How did Railmotor Models Begin?

Founded in 1992, Railmotor Models was formed out of a fascination with trains. Primarily formed with the idea of providing an alternative to the resin kits that dominated the market. The name came from a love affair with the 'VR Derm', and the 'Flying Railmotor' became the new well recognized symbol of Railmotor Models.

The Commonwealth railways - ANR 50x /AOOX was chosen to be the first of a range of injection moulded kits followed by the VHQY and the derivatives of that wagon. However, fate struck a blow to Railmotor Models when the company that was contacted to construct the tool and pack the kits was placed in the hands of a receiver.
